· What is the proposed date for setting up this Foundation?
FICA should be officially launched by the second quarter of the year 2010, preferably in May, as part of activities to commemorate the Africa Union day.

· What is the mission of FICA?
FICA’s mission will be to effectively communicate science-based information on all food related issues such as food composition, food quality & safety and health & nutrition to health and nutrition professionals, educators, government officials, journalists, and others, providing understandable information to consumers in Africa.

· Who constitute the Staff members and the board of FICA?
Staff members could hail from food industries or academia within the region. Board members and chairperson could be elected from among national or international delegates at its meetings which should be held annually.

· How would FICA be financed?
FICA should be financed by governments, AU, FAO, WHO, food and beverage industries, as well as agricultural and biotechnology industries within or outside the continent, either in cash or in kind.

· Distribution of FICA regional offices in Africa
FICA should have its headquarters in Africa, with regional offices being strategically located in each of the five regions of Africa (North, South, East, West, and Central Africa).
